"Hi to all from your very own Tommy at Radio Old London,

The Purebreds have finally sent in some supplies: get moving friends, before the looters get their hands on them, you all know the indicated points of contact".

So here we are, at the first of 3 appointments with the addons.

First of all, the sleeves to protect your precious market cards.

There are 2 different types, customized with a design that marries the market graphics, and the clear type.

Both sleeves are premium at 100 microns and are perfect for our 67x44mm cards.

The sleeves are needed to hold all the cards of the core game and Old London expansion.

At the end of the KS, based on the SGs and add-ons, we will provide the exact number of packs you’ll need for everything.

Many of you have asked for the option to buy the Meeples in order to have both versions of the game.

Your wish is our command!

The image of the packs is for reference purposes only to help you understand where the pieces come from, we will design suitable packaging during the production stage. We don't intend to fill your shelves with boxes.

Last but not least, the artbook.

This is a book very close to our hearts because we invest a lot of energy and effort into the artistic production of our games.

This is our way of sharing with you the behind-the-scenes of DEI.

These addons are purely cosmetic, they do not contain rules and are not necessary to play, but rather serve only to improve the gaming experience by immersing you even further into the world of DEI.

To add these add-ons to your pledge simply click on the "manage your pledge” button and add the total value of the selected addons.

These addons can also be selected during the Pledge Manager but doing so now will help the entire community unlock new SGs.

"And now, dear listeners, I leave you with a new song... before there’s nothing left for your poor old Tommy".

Ready for the shopping!

To Market, To Market

"Hi to all Scrappers of Old London, this is Tommy speaking.

Life in Old London isn’t so easy for the scrappers who live there. Every day they’re forced to sift through old buildings, climb onto dangerous roofs and confront who knows what other dreadful dangers just to survive.

So what drives these men and women to risk their lives collecting technological boxes or a few energy cells?

Let's find out together!"

The Purebreds blackmail all factions, controlling them like puppets in their hands, offering food and services to those who bring them technologies unearthed in the Old Lady’s territories. But it’s not just the Purebreds who are accepting Energy Cells and Technological boxes as payment for their services. In fact, unbeknownst to the dictators, Markets have emerged where anything can be found at the right price.

The Markets are hidden to the eyes of those unable to perceive the signs of their presence and are split into different types to ensure the best management of their clientele. Each Market offers three services at once and each time a card is purchased it is immediately replaced, sliding the remaining cards rightwards and thus filling the empty spaces with new cards.

Each card indicates a cost in resources, which, however, won’t always suffice. In fact, the other 3 Markets, in addition to the Black one, only offer their services to those controlling the right number of same-colored outposts. Each faction can always buy at least one card from these markets, but in order to have greater freedom of choice and first rights to all the goods at the Market, they must control two outposts in the right color.

But let’s take a detailed look at the most common types of markets in old London:

Thanks to its services and upgrades, it has been designed to improve scrappers’ capacity in terms of mobility, collection, use of drones and the improved efficiency of the faction’s existing skills. The logistics market is designed for those wishing to get the best out of their Scrappers and always be ready to change their strategy.

Its services are aimed at reinforcing the presence of scrappers on the field, earning precious victory points, ignoring the adversary’s majorities and recruiting practically anywhere, without having to limit oneself to zones with a faction (or generic) refuge. These types of cards make this market extremely useful for territorial occupation strategies!

The cards of this market aim to empower the faction’s collection qualities, allowing you to place a resource each time you recruit a Scrapper or obtain another Technology each time you collect a resource. This market is extremely useful to those wishing to follow a strategy based on the collection of resources and victory points by purchasing the best cards in different markets.

The Black Market is the most versatile with respect to the other three we’ve just seen. Although its cards don't follow any specific theme and can include versions more powerful than the effects in the more specific markets, it offers a great variety of choices in order to confront any type of situation and strategy!

We have seen a few examples of cards and the scope of each Market, but at the end of the day, how do we buy the cards and where do we find the necessary resources? Every self-respecting scrapper knows that there are two main resources that are easy to barter: Technologies and Energy cells.

Energy Cells: this is the rarest and most difficult resource to obtain, belonging to a now-obsolete technology very similar to that used in the Genesis. Roofs are the best place to look for the much-coveted cells, but beware, Scrappers, the competition may be fierce!

Technology: This is the most common resource but at the same time is also easy to barter, they are found buried in the snow between buildings. Inside these boxes, you will often find devices useful for the technological development of the Purebreds, hence why the factions are heftily rewarded for their discovery.

"I hope your walk to the market has been fruitful, your Tommy greets you and gives you an appointment for another transmission soon... it seems that new goods are coming to the Peio's shop!"

Hi to all Scrappers of Old London, this is Tommy speaking.

I have here with me Willow, one of the Psionic Leaders.

I know you’re here to defend your cause, many accuse you of being a harbinger of doom...

Willow: they are just ignorant people who are afraid of what they don't know. Unfortunately, this relegates us to the margins of society, despite the fact that our powers could be of great assistance.

Rumours are going around that you're part of the resistance.

Willow: …..

The Psionic faction is the second totally asymmetric faction of the game.

In fact, they are less in number but are essentially 5 leaders, each with their own power.

Their faction cards, in addition to showing the normal symbols to perform actions, also show a symbol tied to one of the Psionics, which allows them to activate their power.

He was outcast from his original refuge (we don't know which one, he doesn’t like talking about it) due to his powers.

He roamed around for a long time in the northern wastelands resisting the outside temperatures only thanks to his psionic power.

Once he reached the vicinity of Old London, he followed the psionic tracks of his current companions to gather them together.

Willow can interact with the movement of the other psionics, moving on the board even in occupied zones, ignoring all majority rules.

He comes from Refuge 42 and has brought the rebels’ cause into their group. Keith is Aria’s Brother.

He has strong contacts with Abraham of the Ravagers.

Keith’s power allows the psionics to move the adversary scrappers from the surrounding zones.

Her comrades hold great respect for this woman.

Nobody knows where she comes from, but when they found her she looked like she’d gone through hell, and survived.

After being helped and healed she decided to join the group.

Kar'rà counts as 5 scrappers for her entire turn when she activates her power.

This girl escaped from one of the Farms

When she speaks of her past she always refers to the Farm as the underworld.

She managed to escape during a mission in Old London.

Elle has the power to activate any Drone within one area away.

This big man comes from a wealthy family of xxxxxxxxx.

Because of his appearance, he has always lived on the margins of society.

Mocked and beaten, he decided to abandon the comforts of his past life, driven by the desire for revenge.

He supported Keith in his decision to side with the rebels.

Vladimir can unlock a feat when he activates his power.

The psionics will draw 4 of the 5 missions randomly each game.

These missions are visible and manageable by the psionic player, but remain secret to the other players.

When, at the end of the 3rd phase, they need to declare which mission to undertake, they reveal the selected mission card and acquire the points earned.

These cards work in a slightly different way to the standard ones insofar as they don’t take into account the dynamics of turns.

At the end of the game the psionics will count the points just like every other faction to determine the winner.

Thanks for all your help Willow, I hope to welcome a few other members of your team to learn more about your story.

WOW... guys, Willow has just disappeared before my eyes in a cloud of sweet-smelling purple smoke.

While I try and recover, I leave you with a song from the ancient era.

Enjoy!

Hello from Radio Old London!

For this first broadcast, after the firestarter, we will talk about the Precursors faction and the solo mode that will soon join the party!

Let's not waste any time and get to know these fascinating and mysterious survivors!

The mythical races present on Earth, hidden from the eyes of most, have undergone a dangerous and drastic change in their lifestyle. Following the discovery of the Genesis wreck, an alien terraforming spaceship, a company with hidden goals was founded: The ACHAB Corporation.

Thanks to careful studies on the genetic material transported by the ship, they discovered the presence of mythological creatures called Precursors and that humans also come from the deepest space.

Due to uncontrolled experiments with the ship's terraforming instrumentation, a new glacial period was accidental begun. The Precursors were blamed for the environmental disaster, and the ACHAB Corporation thus formed the Purebreds to guide humanity in these difficult times and hunt down those responsible for the disaster.

After the White Death Day, the ancient races were forced to come out into the open to obtain food, resources and find ingenious methods to survive. The presence of the Purebreds and their efforts to consolidate the human race created the impossibility for integration between Precursors and humans, leading to a terrible age of conflict. The Purebreds ardently claim that all races, other than the human race, are not native to Earth and therefore have no right to exploit resources or demand a peaceful coexistence.

The Precursors have learned not to trust humans and have become extremely aggressive towards survivors who invade their territories... even if by mistake.
Alliances with humans are very rare, and so far, only members of Refugee 42 have earned the respect of Precursor leaders.

The solo mode entails the use of any faction of any D.E.I. faction against the Faun Faction, which is the only one that can be faced in solo mode, given the automation and events are designed to adapt to this specific faction.

The player will use the game's standard abilities, faction cards, and basic rules with the addition of a few unique tokens,  on the board. In fact, on each of the 9 Tiles, randomly selected from the 16 available, there will be Activation Tokens that will annoy the player in different ways: eliminating units in the Outposts, subtracting Resources and victory points, dismantling Structures created by the players.

When the tokens are activated and removed from the ground, they are positioned on the Reinforcement Track divided into three areas. The tokens must be placed in order in the various slots, and only once an area is complete, can you place the tokens in the next area. Each area has a different probability of returning all activation tokens on the trackback into play.

Fauns have different and specific victory goals than the player's, but don't believe that this will stop them from ruining your plans!

If you want to fight for the Fauns, you will be able to play this faction instead of any of the core box ones. Remember, however, that the victory goals of the Precursors are not the same as the other factions; hence, it becomes the most Asymmetric faction of D.E.I.!

That's all for today from Radio Old London, see you tomorrow for new updates from the icy wastes!

Welcome (back) to Old London Scrappers!!!
over 4 years ago – Tue, Jan 28, 2020 at 10:29:13 PM

Welcome to Old London,

The Purebreds are always in need of new resources.

Working for us will allow you to survive longer.

First of all, thank you, the foundations of the project have been laid and this is just the first step.

We have a lot of surprises in store for you.

As many of you know, this is a re-launch, but not everything was revealed during the previous project.

We would like to clarify that this is a “European” game, where movements and actions are made by exploiting the majorities.

It is not a war game, there are no clashes between the factions.

Those coming from the previous project will notice several changes.

The aim of this first update is also to explain the reasons behind some of our choices.

Old and new backers will find much food for thought in this update.

The first thing that has changed is the funding goal, from 85K to 90K.

This is due to the production of the Meeples; we will now have 2 types of core boxes and SGs.

This has incurred an additional factory cost.

Many of you, following a well-known post on FB regarding unrealistic funding goals will be asking yourselves if this amount will in fact be enough.

The answer is yes.

These numbers have not been plucked out of thin air, but are based on quotations provided by the factory for a plausible number of orders.

For us it is unrealistic to ask for quotes for 16,000 backers, it is more sensible to foresee a figure between 2000 and 4000 backers.

This is the most important novelty.

This new pledge will go a long way in satisfying many of your requests.

Moreover, it allows the cost of the game to be lowered for backers that don't want to miss out on all the exclusives, or who aren’t interested in the miniatures.

Each SG of the miniatures will be provided in the meeples version for those who select this pledge.

Some of you noticed a price increase from €119 to €125, this is due to the higher value of the pledge content.

Previously, we had only one expansion with 6 models, the Big Ben board (3D element), now we have 16 models, 5 Tower Bridge boards (one 3D element), the Big Ben board (3D element).

Moreover, the pledge now includes the deluxe resources having a value of €21.

Previously, everybody received the Penny miniature for free, now you will receive the Mad and Max miniature, which has a slightly higher value (only for the first 24 hours).

This, which was previously an expansion for an additional cost, will be released as SGs.

The controversial Red Zone expansion was composed of different modules that could be played individually.

This expansion has now been split between the KSE Old London expansion and the SGs.

The Mech models have been redesigned to be used in various ways, for example Mad and Max and their Interceptor.

Allow me to introduce Tommy to the new backers.

Tommy is a guy from Refuge 42 who set up a pirate radio, Radio Old London, and who tries to help the survivors with his music.

His girlfriend, Aria, pursues the same objective but through action, to her father’s great despair.

Tommy will keep us company for the next 10 campaign days with his playlist.

Enjoy!!!!
